What a great start to the New Year! With the launch of Charlie Pig's Big Day being a huge success, Als and I have just started mapping out the illustrations for the next book in the series - Tummy Trouble at Roberts Farm! The main character of this story is Cassidy, a little grey Welsh Mountain pony, who lives in a stable just across from the barn. We are hoping to have it completed and printed by Easter, and will keep you posted on all developments.
Last week I took my first trip to see how Dumbella and her sisters are getting on in their new home. Orla, my youngest daughter, and her friend Hannah, came along with me. The three of us had such fun meeting the new animals that live there and seeing our lovely piggies, which we really miss down at the yard.
The piglets have lots of new friends and neighbours. They share a barn with a flock of sheep, two of which are black. There are also some cows and a lot of chickens, which followed us wherever we went as we had a bag of biscuits and old mince pies!
After introducing ourselves to the animals on the farm, we finally found our piglets and my, haven't they grown! It is unbelievable how much bigger they are in just three weeks! Dumbella is still the biggest of the three but the other two are not far behind. They seemed pleased to see us, but I think that was probably because we bought some snacks for them!
They still love chewing wellies, particularly Mischief (the piglet with the black spot on her eye) although now that they are so much bigger, and have sharp teeth, it is not quite so funny! In fact I had to put the two little girls up onto the barn wall so they were out of their reach!
The only other member of the farm that we didn't get to meet that day was Alfie. I will be featuring him in the next week or so and trust me, you are all going to love him so make sure you keep reading our blogs!
Have a great week and stay warm!
