Firstly, I have some very exciting news. Al’s golden retriever, Lucy, had eight puppies yesterday! They are gorgeous! I was very lucky to film their first couple of hours and will be keeping you up to date with their progress over the coming weeks, with plenty of pictures of video clips!
A couple of weeks ago I promised that I would introduce you to a new character from the farm where Dumbella and her sisters now live. His name is Alfie and he is a lama - an extremely gorgeous one! (See the video below!)
So why do they have a lama? Well, it turns out that he is an excellent security guard for the sheep and the chickens as he keeps the foxes away. Lama’s are extremely curious creatures and so will approach, and in most cases chase, any unfamiliar animals that come into the field.
What I find most endearing about him is his bucked teeth, which make it look like he is always smiling! On our first visit I was quite cautious around him as Lama’s are known to spit, but he seemed very friendly and keen to come over to see us and have a chat.

While we were at the farm we also went to see how Dumbella and her sister’s, Mischief and Jessie J were getting on. In three weeks they have grown significantly again and although Dumbella is still the biggest, the other two are quickly catching up. We took them some hazelnuts, which they loved, and my three children ran around with them in their sty, teaching them piggy Gangnam Style! Ummm, poor pigs!
Have a great weekend.
